Downtown Day: part 2

The rest of our downtown Los Angeles field trip continues on after the Walt Disney Concert Hall. We all jumped back on the Metro to Union Station to have lunch at Philippes for some French dip sandwiches. Tyler can be pretty picky but he tried mine and really liked it. I got him a plain turkey sandwich. Now we know for next time...

After lunch, it was back on the Metro to the Central Library which is really cool. Lots of stunning artwork and paintings. The kids weren't too happy when they learned we were going to do another tour but this is also self-guided and there are lots of escalators to keep them entertained.

We head out the back to check out the gardens and whaddya know...there's the Bonaventure Hotel!! It was only a block away and it was a welcome distraction for the kids to ride all the elevators while Laura and I got to see more of Los Angeles.

Overall, it was a really great day! The kids had fun and got a bit of culture in them. Of course, we ended it with Slurpees from 7-11....
