Bye MCR
I'm not emo or a disaffected youth but I do love me some MCR. More in the musical sense not the gaga love for Gerard.
Well MCR broke up so this is my video tribute to them...
The LA Kings used MCR's "Welcome to the Black Parade" another awesome song. Wishing all the best to the guys in their future endeavors. :)

Big Me
Boy this week flew by! We are getting ready for Christmas so the knitting has taken a quick break for now although I am still working on my Moody socks.
We've been invited to several Christmas parties and looking forward to it. Hector scored an invite to the department party after several people asked if he could cover for them a certain Saturday night. He's worked hard enough all year to take that day off party or not. :)
I procrastinated on our annual calendar so I'm scrambling on that to have it done in time. Not as many photos to choose from so that will be a goal for next year. :)
Have a great weekend!

It's Friday and I'm ready for the weekend. My oldest son Tyler and I along with my cousin Hannah and her friend will be SUPing in Santa Monica Saturday. It will be Tyler and my first time doing ocean SUPing which is different (a bit) so wish us good luck and safett.

Friday video
Today is Sunday but a Weezer song came on that is one on those you have to dance wherever you are...I was in the car coming back from the grocery store. It's a cheery song so I wanted to remember to post it for Friday. :)
Here is the version with the lyrics because I'm super bad with lyrics and make up own regularly.
And the official Weezer video...

lonely boy
I'm not on top of the latest bands/music and it takes me a while to connect the song to the band but today I heard this on the radio when the band was interviewed. The lightbulb went on and so I'm passing it along because the song/video is pretty awesome. I feel like dancing with it. :) Now I want to check their other songs....
Have a great weekend!!

Video Friday: Saturday edition
A day late but I heard this song last night which reminds me of LA Kings games when this song was played during intermission.
I miss hockey but hopefully it will be back soon.

Another Friday, already? I'm ready! We are still having a heat wave which is tiresome but what can you do? I can barricade myself in our bedroom with our room A/C while the kids can go about their normal activities & not have the heat bother them...
That also means another Friday video from Depeche Mode! Very early DM when they were teenagers and just beginning. Fun to grow up with the band that speaks to you. :)
Have an outing at Jet Propulsion Labratory that I had to plan several weeks in advance (June) and here we are. Of course, I should be spending the day getting the house ready for Tyler's birthday but no, we will be on our field trip in the hot San Gabriel valley. I expect lots of efficient A/C there.
Have a good holiday weekend....

Useless
I've decided to make Fridays music video day. For now I'll focus on Depeche Mode who are my all time fave group. They've lasted through the decades and I still enjoy their music.
So here is Useless from the album Ultra. I'm starting with something maybe that most people aren't familiar with and this is when they began using guitars etc. :)

Heat Wave
Summer is really here for SoCal and we are feeling it. The last couple of summers have been mild and barely warm so this heat is unusual to us. The valleys are a total different story though.
Anyway, my friend Kat and I had tickets to see Strangelove, a Depeche Mode tribute band for several months and of course, it is smack dab in the middle of the heatwave. Luckily the OC Fair is located about 4 miles from the ocean so a nice breeze comes through to cool everything down. We had loads of fun rocking to Strangelove and eating the most awesomest maple bacon donut. It was HUGE, a glazed donut with shaved bacon loaded on top with maple sauce slathered all over it. It was so delicious. :) I hope it will be back next year!!
This week is still warm but the cool breeze at night helps a lot. A couple of night though, I opened the doors and windows to let the hot air out and cool air in when a strong, awful smell of skunk comes in that has me running to shut everything back up again. Darn skunks!!!
This afternoon we went to our local beach with Glenn and Laura to get some relief. It was so nice and pretty today. The water was warm and pleasant to swim in. We had to top off our day with some ice cream which hit the spot. Yum!!
I was also busy taking pictures with my Yashica SLR (film) so it is being processed tonight so we shall see if the photos came out and how they look.

They spent a lot of time chatting about their favorite games.
Fun times with friends.

Flashback 80's
The original version that I heard in 1984 (it must have been an import then) and then Pet Shop Boys released another version that was much slower but it took off. I prefer this version more and Hector played name that tune with me the other day by singing/vocalizing the beginning part which cracked me up mostly because 1) I knew the song and 2) it sounded funny.
So here it is to enjoy and please join in the ah ah ah part, uh uh UH UH UH.
I know Hector is at work now and won't be able to hear this song but I'm sure he'll perform it LIVE for me at home! :)
Note: Hector posed this question of your top 5 songs you'd pick if you had to live on a deserted island. I'm still thinking of my list but Hector said he had a Pet Shop Boys song and I guessed correctly.....
What do you think it is???
Answer below....
Suburbia!!

We are Young
I don't keep up with the latest music as much as I did when I was younger, but I hear this song a lot on the radio. Even Tyler recognizes it when we hear it in the car. :)
Yes , I like it and it must have some qualities to it if Glee does a version of it. Oy.

Move Your Feet
Like I said yesterday, not much to report. Tyler has a cold that he is milking for all its worth which is fine for me.
I finished my Spring Forward socks so more on that later.
In the meantime, another song to share that both kids LOVE to dance to. I played a portion of it on my iphone and Josh immediately went into the dance routine which was so fun and cute to watch.
