Having the 4th of July totally throws me off but it makes for a much shorter week and here it is Friday already! Yay! This week was low key, mostly knitting and doing things around the house while the kids entertain themselves.
Here are some interesting words that I overheard the 12 yr old and 9 1/2 yr old use playing with their stuffed animals. Okay stuffed animals are not something I imagined my 2 sons would be using but it's their form of action figures because it's videogame type stuffies like Mario, Yoshi etc. The words are doppelganger and insurance. I had to ask about the insurance part and Tyler said that Yoshi wanted to drive somewhere but he didn't have any car insurance. Ahhh, glad to hear that Yoshi is being responsible. :)
Also yesterday, it was Tyler's very first time learning the grill etc so Hector walked him through the marinating and grilling kalbi which Tyler took to right away. He did a great job. Joshua was very impressed and ate everything. So did we....it was a rite of passage. The art of grilling.
And we also have Joshua's 9 1/2 birthday event to share. Yes, 9 and 1/2 half. This goes back to our ultra lame OB/GYN moving the c-section date to 12/27 from my original choice of 1/2 because she wanted to go out of town for the holidays. So Josh has his birthday 2 days after Christmas and we can't have a regular birthday party because friends are out of town or busy because it's the holidays. So H came up with the half birthday idea which places it right in the summertime which works out much better and Josh gets another round of presents.
So Josh chose Sky Zone which is a giant trampoline playground for people of all ages. There is a general jump area, another where you can flip into a huge foam pit, practice your slam dunk or join in a dodgeball game.
Great way to burn off some energy and then load up on some In N Out and shave ice!!
