Food Fest

Kind of behind with some events like the Food Fest held in Long Beach on Saturday. A couple dozen specialized food trucks gathered in one spot to offer a plethora of choices.

The kids chose pizza, of course at the Slice truck.

Hector tried Peruvian/Japanese food at lomo arigato.

My poki roll and some cream cheese deep fried thing.

Can't remember the name of this truck where I got my rolls.

Beautiful setting at Rainbow Lagoon park.

Another food truck with its own eating area and the kids wanted to go on top.

Hector was trying to get Tyler to lift Josh up so we could get a photo and this man helped out.

So many trucks ...so little room in our tummies.

Tiny little truck which served tiny ice cream sandwiches. Okay but overpriced. I didn't have the nerve to try the butter/bacon ice cream.

Just frozen lemonade and slushies.

So that was our day at the food fest.

Now I can say I tried it... the grilled cheese truck was there too but the line was super crazy long. There must have been almost 75-100 people in line. I'm glad I tried it before.

In the Navy

Here at the ship.

After watching a video on the Korean navy, we made our way to the bow.

Not too many people.
Joshua wanted to touch/hold the gun soooo badly. :)

Tyler looks very comfortable.
So does Josh.
Going down.
Josh practically drooled all over this weapon. :)
Cute mascots.
And this concludes our tour. Wednesday and Thursday in San Pedro.

Korean Naval Ship Day

But first a stop at the Maritime Museum because the naval ship wasn't open until 10am. The newspaper said 8am to 5pm Wednesday and Thursday which was a misprint. We had a 1/2 hour so burn so we hung around here for a bit.

As you can see the kids are rarin to go.

Gorgeous day too, the sun decided to come out first thing today which cheered us up. Compare that to yesterday when Joshua wore his UCLA sweatshirt all day.

They had lots of fun packed into 20 minutes...

Just to Share

Here is a sample of the Lace Ribbon Scarf I started a few days ago. I'm using sock yarn so it's slow going and I have about 5 inches so far.
In the pics I stretched it out a bit so you can see the lace pattern. It'll look awesome  when finished (hopefully 60 inches).
Furthermore, this will be for ME. It'll be a nice addition to my accessories. If you want one, you're gonna have to learn to knit! :)

Soak City afternoon

I took the kids to Soak City yesterday afternoon and we had a blast! The weather was about 80 degrees and Josh didn't freeze this time. Here are some pics from our day. I used Hector's Olympus all weather/water proof camera which comes in real handy for the pool/water.
Tried to get some wave action.
This is the only decent shot of Tyler during wave time. He tends to dive underneath each wave...
While Josh tends to hang out on top of each wave.

Josh reminds of a dolphin leaping above the water.

Underwater shots.

Tyler impersonating a sea creature. I think it was a seastar.

Soak City.

It was a great day. We only spent 2 hours there but we have annual passes to enjoy another time. :)

My honey

I met Hector at the ripe old age of 25 and he was 32 so seeing baby and childhood photos give me a peek into that time.
Look at him! So cute! Visiting his dad at the cemetary who wasn't a resident but an employee.

Younger photo of H. He must be around 2 yrs maybe. Look at those chunky legs. H recognized that house right away .

Now I can see H's face merging from the baby face. The glasses help too. Although it is H's secret weapon that when he removes the glasses, women SWOON over his eyes. No joke, I've had it happen to me and seen it happen to other women who had no idea of their power. It's better that he keeps them behind glasses. :)

Disneyland.

And we skip all the way to the Marines. Here he is with his sis Lupe.

Now I need to upload some of my old photos. :)

Tyler's baywatch moment.

Managed a nice action shot going the wrong direction as usual.

At the Rose Garden.

Life captured in 2 seconds.
